How Do I Import an Xmath Plot Image Into Microsoft Word? Primary Software: MATRIXxPrimary Software Version: 7.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I have created a plot of my data using the plot command in Xmath. Now I want to import the image into a MS Word document or other program. Solution: There are two methods: using hardcopy or using Cut and Paste. The hardcopy command can be used to save a plot as a picture file in various formats. Several of these formats can be opened in Microsoft Word. Both Encapsulated PostScript (eps) and Enhanced Metafile (emf) work. Enhanced Metafiles will keep the color of the plots where as Encapsulated PostScript is only black and white. See help hardcopy for more information on the available file types. hardcopy g1, file="testplot", {emf} Once saved to file the picture can be brought in the Word using the Insert Picture option (Insert>Picture>From File). Another method is to Copy the plot. Either press Ctrl-C or go to the menu Edit>Copy in the plot Window. Then in Word you can paste the plot through the keys Ctrl-V or menu Edit>Paste. The copy and paste method also works in SytemBuild in the SuperBlock Editor. If no blocks are selected then an image of the whole Superblock is copied, or a set of blocks can be selected and an image of only those blocks is copied. Related Links: Attachments:
