What Signal Conditioning Options Are Available For the 7831R?

Hardware: Reconfigurable I/O (RIO)>>R Series>>PXI-7831R

Problem:
I am using a National Instruments 7831R device and I would like to measure signals that are outside of the specified input signal range. Are there any options for providing signal conditioning to the inputs of the 7831R device?

Solution:
Currently, the options for providing signal conditioning to the inputs of a 7831R device are to use the 5B Series of isolated analog input modules and the SSR series of isolated digital input modules. Based on the type of signal conditioning needed, there are two types of cables available to interface to the 7831R:

  • NSC68-262650
  • NSC68-5050
The NSC68-262650 cable is a 68-pin connector-to-two 26-pin and 1 50-pin ribbon connectors and is used to connect the MIO connector of 7831R boards to 5B and SSR signal conditioning backplanes. Each of the 26-pin connectors can connect to an 8-channel 5B backplane and the 50-pin connector can connect to a 16-channel SSR backplane.

The NSC68-5050 cable is a 68-pin connector-to-two 50-pin ribbon connectors and is used to connect one of the DIO connectors of 7831R boards to SSR signal conditioning backplanes. One of the 50-pin connectors can connect to a 24-channel SSR backplane and the other can connect to a 16-channel SSR backplane.
