After Wiring a Scalar Value to the Convert to Dynamic Data Express VI, Chart Shows Only a Single Point

Primary Software:
Primary Software Version: 7.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I wired a scalar value (a random number) to the Convert to Dynamic Data Express VI, but only one point of data appears on the chart. I expected to see a history of previous points. But if I use the Merge Signals function with the scalar value instead of the Convert to Dynamic Data Express VI, the chart displays the data correctly.

Solution:
This is a known issue. You can use one of the following two solutions to work around this problem. The attached Scalar to DDT to Chart Workarounds VI shows both workarounds.
1) Use the Merge Signals function instead of the Convert to Dynamic Data Express VI
2) Create a waveform from the scalar value and wire the waveform to the Convert to Dynamic Data Express VI. To create the waveform, use the Get Date/Time In Seconds function to obtain the current time and wire it to t0. Use the Build Array function on the scalar data and wire that to the Y input of the Build Waveform function.
