How Do I Uninstall NI-488.2 v2.3 For Mac OS X

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-488.2
Primary Software Version: 2.3
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: How Do I Uninstall NI-488.2 v2.3 For Mac OS X? I installed it into my /Applications/National Instruments/NI-488.2 folder, can I just drop that folder onto the trashcan?

Solution: No, uninstalling a driver that has kernel mode components is not as simple as dropping the base folder into the trashcan to delete it. The NI-488.2 driver for Mac OS X installed other components that are required for it to work properly. If you need to completely remove the driver from your computer, see the UNINSTALL.TXT file in the installation directory for a list of files that need to be removed. The UNINSTALL.TXT for NI-488.2 v2.3 for Mac OS X is reproduced below.

Additional notes that apply to the UNINSTALL.TXT:
  1. This step MUST be executed before you begin removing files. As an administrator, run a terminal. At the terminal, type the following command:
    sudo /Library/Receipts/ni4882.pkg/Contents/Resources/palModuleMgr.sh -r coldplugenum
Type in your password when prompted.
  2. The files in the /usr folder shown below are not accessible through Finder. You must go to a terminal and remove them manually with the "sudo rm" command. For example:
    sudo rm /usr/lib/libEnetConfig.dylib
    will remove /usr/lib/libEnetConfig.dylib.
