Hibernation and Standby Support for NI System MonitorHardware: PXI/CompactPCI
Problem: NI System Monitor is installed on my PXI system and when the system goes into hibernation or standby mode, the trigger routing on the chassis is not restored when the system wakes up, or I am experiencing system hangs or crashes. Why is this occurring and are there any workarounds? Solution: Advanced power management schemes for Windows XP, including standby or hibernation, are not supported for NI System Monitor as of versions 1.0 or 1.1. One known symptom for a PXI system recovering from standby or hibernation with a System Monitor application running is the trigger routing is reset for the chassis under inspection. There will not be any notification that a problem has occurred in the system. Its possible that other symptoms may exist. Potential Workaround: Disable any power management schemes in the operating system before running any System Monitor applications. Power management schemes in Windows XP can be changed in the Power Options menu found in Start » Control Panel.
