Why Does My National Instruments Software Appear to Hang When Checking out a License From the NI Volume License Manager?Primary Software: Other NI Software>>NI Volume License ManagerPrimary Software Version: 1.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I am using National Instruments software that checks out a license from the NI Volume License Manager. When I start my software, it doesn't respond. Why does this occur? Solution: This behavior can been seen during a small window of time, approximately one-half of a second, while the NI Volume License Manager server is restarting. While the server is restarting, the client software libraries can hang when trying to check out a license by contacting the server. If you see this behavior, you can close the software that you are trying to launch. Then simply open the software again. This time delay will be enough for the server to fully restart. If this situation persists, contact the NI Volume License Manager administrator at your company and ensure that the server is fully up and running before launching the software. Note that this behavior should only occur with National Instruments software that uses the NI License Manager version 3.0 on the client machines. Related Links: Attachments:
