Can I Use a New FlexMotion Board with My Old Version of LabVIEW?Hardware: Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7332
Problem: I am using LabVIEW 5.1 and I am looking to integrate a new motion controller, the PCI-7332, into my application. When I look at the product reference for the PCI-7330 series, I see that I would need NI-Motion 6.1 or later, which does not support LabVIEW 5.1. What can I do? Solution: The PCI-7332 is part of the new 7330 'series,' and was actually released after the PCI-7334. The PCI-7332 is only supported in NI-Motion 6.1 and later. In order to use LabVIEW 5.1, you will need a motion controller that is supported in NI-Motion 5.2 or earlier. The PCI-7334 and the PCI-7344 were both supported in the driver version 5.2, and this driver will install an NI-Motion API for LabVIEW 5.1. In general, National Instruments recommends upgrading your LabVIEW version, as the latest versions of the motion controllers can be significantly cheaper and more maintainable. Additionally, the newer versions of the driver are more robust and have additional features. Please see the following links for more information about our latest motion control products!
