Requirements for Creating a FieldPoint Executable in LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI 7.1 or Earlier

Problem:
There is no Application Builder for LabVIEW versions previous to 8.0.  How can I create an executable in LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI 7.1 or earlier that connects to a FieldPoint network module?

Solution:
Requirements for running a LabVIEW executable with FieldPoint on a none development machine
  1. LabVIEW Run-Time Engine
  2. FieldPoint Explorer (FieldPoint 3.0.2 or earlier) OR Measurement & Automation Explorer (FieldPoint 4.x or later).
  3. FPLVMgr.dll
  4. The .iak file for the FieldPoint configuration

Requirements for running a LabWindows/CVI executable with FieldPoint on a none development machine
  1. LabWindows/CVI Run-Time Engine
  2. FieldPoint Explorer (FieldPoint 3.0.2 or earlier) OR Measurement & Automation Explorer (FieldPoint 4.x or later).
  3. FPCVIMgr.dll
  4. The .iak file for the FieldPoint configuration

Note:
  • If using LabVIEW 7.x to build the application you will need to install support for LabVIEW from the FieldPoint 4.x Driver CD on the target machine.
  • The .iak and FPLVMgr/FPCVIMgr.dll must installed in the same directory as the executable on the target machine.
    • The path to the .iak file in the LabVIEW VI must point to the current location of the .iak file.
    • The FPLVMgr.dll by default is installed in the ..\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 6\vi.lib\FieldPoint\SubVIs.
    •  FPCVIMgr.dll by default is installed in the Windows system folder.
      • For Win9x/ME this is ..\Windows\System
      • For WinNT/2000 this is ..\WINNT\system32
