Error -2146822260 with the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office

Problem:
I am using the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office and I receive error -2146822260 when attempting to append text to my Word report. Why do I receive this error?

Solution:
This error occurs whenever you attempt to append text to a Word report at bookmarks that you have placed inside of Text Form Fields. The error did not occur with the Report Generation Toolkit 1.0.x, but it does occur with version 1.1.x.

To fix the problem, save the attached VI below to your hard drive. Open the VI and choose File » Save As... to save the VI into the following LLB:

labview\vi.lib\addons\_office\_wordsub.llb

If LabVIEW asks if you want to overwrite the existing VI, choose “Yes”. Then mass-compile wordsub.llb by going to Tools » Advanced » Mass Compile.

This VI will work with LabVIEW 7.0 and later, and with Report Generation Toolkit 1.1 and later.
