Data Only Partially Acquired with Measure

Primary Software: Other NI Software>>Measure
Primary Software Version: 2.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I'm performing a data capture with my serial or GPIB hardware in Measure for Excel. For some reason I'm only getting a portion of my data...the whole data set never makes it through. Why is this?

Solution: You need to double-check to make sure you've supplied an adequate time-out value. If you've specified a time-out of one second (for example), and it takes your instrument two seconds to send all the data, then you'll miss the last half of the data. In the task setup dialog box in Measure, make sure you try a longer time-out (in the "Task Time-out" box) if you're running into these problems.

Also, make sure you're using the proper terminating character for your instrument to make sure that the acquisition doesn't finish until the termination string is acquired. This is usually a string like "EOI" or "\013\010" or "\010"...check your instrument's documentation to find out what kind of termination character(s) it sends.
