What Time Resolution Is Used When Logging Data to Citadel?

Primary Software: Lookout
Primary Software Version: 4.5
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: I am logging data to the historical Citadel database from the DSC module or Lookout. What is the resolution of the timestamp?

Solution: Different components are capable of different time resolutions.
  • Citadel 4.4 has a resolution of 100 ns
  • DSC module Tag Engine 6.1 has a resolution of 1 ms
  • Lookout 5.0 has a resolution of 10 ms
  • Retrieving data through the Citadel ODBC 4.4 driver has a resolution of 10 ms

Currently the DSC module and Lookout do not take full advantage of Citadel time resolution capabilities. Similarly, when retrieving data through ODBC, the timestamp from the DSC module is truncated to the resolution of the ODBC driver.
