In Multisim I receive the error message: "Failed to Initialize DAO, please make sure the DAO was installed during the installation".

Secondary Software: Electronics Workbench, Electronics Workbench>>Multicap, Electronics Workbench>>Ultiboard

Problem: The error message,"Failed to Initialize DAO, please make sure the DAO was installed during the installation", when running Multisim is due to Microsoft DAO (Data Access Objects) not being properly registered in Windows during installation. If you continue to run Multisim after receiving this message, you will see an empty component database.

Solution:
To register DAO after installation:

1. Close Multisim and any other Electronics Workbench products
2. Open the Command prompt by going to, Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt
3. Type C: and press the Enter button
4. Type CD Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO and press the Enter button
5. Type regsvr32 dao360.dll and press the Enter button

You should no longer see the error message when launching Multisim and should see the contents of the component database.
