PCI-7041 RT Not Found in MAX

Hardware: Multifunction DAQ (MIO)>>Real-Time>>PCI-7041/6040E, Multifunction DAQ (MIO)>>Real-Time>>PXI-7041/6040E

Problem:
I am unable to find my PCI-7041 RT in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX).  What could be some possible reasons for this?

Solution:
Here are some possible causes and considerations.
  • Verify that NI-DAQ version 7.4.4 or earlier is installed, or NI-DAQmx 8.1 or earlier is installed.
  • 7041 RT is supported by LabVIEW Real-Time 7.x and 8.0 only
  • 7041 RT has been discontinued, and consequently it is possible that newer software installed on the same system as the 7041 RT could cause problems.
  • Verify that the board securely in one of the computer's PCI slots.
For installation instructions, refer to Chapter 2 of the PCI-7041 RT Manual, which is on page 18/37.  Once installed successfully, the 7041 RT should appear in MAX as seen below:
