How to Create a Digital Pulse Train with Output Voltage Greater than 5V



Hardware: CompactDAQ>>Digital Output Modules>>NI 9472, CompactDAQ>>Digital Output Modules>>NI 9474

Problem:
I would like to create a digital pulse train with an output voltage value greater than 5V.  Is this possible?

Solution:
Yes.  This can be achieved with a hardware timed sourcing digital output module.  For instance, the 9472/4 is a hardware timed module which can take an external supply voltage above 20V.  If you tie the external supply to VSUP and use a counter to generate a pulse train you will achieve a pulse train at the voltage of the supply.
