Download Settings from MAX to the Motion Controller's FLASH MemoryHardware: Motion Control>>Controllers
Problem: Is there a way to download the motion controller settings I specify in the Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) to the motion controller so that next time the controller power's up in the correct state? Or, What does Save Initialization Settings to FLASH motion controller option in MAX do? Solution: By default the motion controller starts up in the factory default settings and you can change the settings in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) by specifying new settings and then clicking the Initialize button. However, if required you can download the settings you have specified in MAX to the Flash Memory of the motion controller. Once you save the settings to the motion controller's onboard Flash memory the next time it power cycles the motion controller will startup with the saved settings preloaded. Follow the instructions below to download the initialization settings to Flash:
Note: After downloading settings to FLASH, the motion controller will start up with the downloaded settings already loaded (Note: There will be a slight delay after the controller powers on before the settings are read from the flash memory). Before using the controller in your application you will have to clear the power up reset state. In LabVIEW, you can clear the power up reset state by using the Clear Power Up Status.flx.
