Error Applying Transforms when Uninstalling LabVIEW

Problem: I went to Start»Settings»Control Panel»Add/Remove Programs to uninstall LabVIEW 6i. When I tried to start the uninstallation I received the follow message:
Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid.
The uninstallation then aborted. How can I uninstall LabVIEW?

Solution: Note: This problem can occur while installing as well as uninstalling. The following steps to editing the registry apply to the installation error as well.

You must use the Registry Editor in Windows to fix this problem. Please follow these steps:
  1. Go to Start»Run and type regedit (or regedt32 on Windows NT).

  2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT»Installer»Products»20F22BE295933D11082B000540F95DD5.

  3. Delete the "Transforms" value in this folder.

  4. Exit the Registry Editor.

  5. Go to Add/Remove Programs and try the uninstallation again.

  6. After the uninstallation completes, restart your computer.

CAUTION: Making any changes to the Windows Registry can potentially cause irreparable damage to your system. It is a good idea to back up the registry by choosing Export Registry File from the Registry menu before editing anything in the registry.
