Plug and Play Board Not Detected by Windows 95/98/ME
Hardware: Legacy DAQ Devices
Problem: What should I do if my plug and play board is not detected in my Windows 95/98/ME computer?
Solution:
- If you have plugged in the board before installing NI-DAQ drivers, it is possible that your board will not be listed under "Data Acquisition Devices" in the Device Manger.
- In the Device Manager window, look for a directory called "Other Devices" and double-click on it. You should see something like the following (the board may not be the same as yours).
Note: If you don't find Other Devices, follow the link at the bottom of this page.
- Left-click once on your board to highlight it. Click on the Remove button.
Note: You may need to left-click on another part of the device and remove it. It is normal for our E-series cards to use two separate device listings for the same card.
- Click on the "Refresh" button. Windows 95 should find your board again and list it under "Data Acquisition Devices."
If your board is not listed under "Data Acquisition Devices" or "Other Devices"
- Close all applications and power off your computer.
- Unplug the board from the computer and reboot your computer without the board.
- Launch the Control Panel » System » Device Manager and make sure your board is not listed there.
- Power off your computer again and reinsert the board (preferably in a different ISA/PCI slot).
- Your board should now be listed under "Data Acquisition Devices" in the Device Manager.
- If your board is still not detected:
