Uninstall on Vista with One Care Firewall Detects Internet UsePrimary Software: Driver Software>>NI-Motion/FlexMotionPrimary Software Version: 4.5 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I am using Windows Vista 32 and have installed the beta of Windows One Care Live (which includes a firewall). I am trying to uninstall my NI software or driver (NI-Motion in many cases) and it is prompting me that part of Logos, lkads.exe, needs to access the internet. The notification is shown below:![]() Why does an uninstall require access the internet and what should I do? Solution: To continue normally with the uninstall, simply allow the process to access the internet. This is normal. The uninstallation is not actually trying to access the internet, instead during the uninstall, Logos (specifically lkads.exe) is broadcasting to the local system (via TCP/IP) that it is shutting down. When using the Windows XP firewall, services are automatically allowed to use the internet without verification. If you are using Windows Vista with One Care Live, or possibly another firewall, services do not automatically have access to pass through the firewall and need to be allowed.
