Problem: How do I make a LabVIEW 5.1.x executable with Test Executive 5.1 or 5.1.1?
Solution: Using LabVIEW 5.1.x and Test Executive 5.1.1, do the following:
- Launch the Application Builder in LabVIEW 5.1.x
- From the Target tab choose the Load button
- Browse to the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW\LVEXEC511 directory
- Choose the lvtert.bld file
- This will load in all of the necessary source files and VI settings
- Fill in the desired target location, application settings, and installer options for your executable
- Choose the Build button to create a stand-alone executable of Test Executive
Note: The lvtert.bld file loads in the following files:
- Test Executive.vi as the top level VI
- Sequence Editor.vi as a dynamic VI
- Please Wait.vi as a dynamic VI
- callback.llb as a support file
- engine.llb as a support file
- operator.llb as a support file
- serpdrv and daqdrv are loaded as default support files by the application builder
After building and launching the executable, if it asks you to find any VIs, browse to the callback.llb or engine.llb to find the VIs it is prompting you for. Look in the callback.llb first and then the engine.llb.
Using LabVIEW 5.1.x and Test Executive 5.1, do the following:
- Launch the Application Builder in LabVIEW 5.1.x
- Choose Test Executive.vi as the top level VI (located in the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW\LVEXEC51\operator.llb)
- Choose Sequence Editor.vi as a dynamic VI (located in the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW\LVEXEC51\engine.llb)
- Choose Please Wait.vi as a dynamic VI (located in the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW\LVEXEC51\engine.llb)
- Choose callback.llb as a support file (located in the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW\LVEXEC51 directory)
- Choose engine.llb as a support file (located in the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW\LVEXEC51 directory)
- Choose operator.llb as a support file (located in the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW\LVEXEC51 directory)
- serpdrv and daqdrv are loaded as default support files by the application builder
After building and launching the executable, if it asks you to find any VIs, browse to the callback.llb or engine.llb to find the VIs it is prompting you for. Look in the callback.llb first and then the engine.llb.
