Adding Dynamic VIs to TestStand When Using the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit

Primary Software: TestStand
Primary Software Version: 4.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: LabVIEW Toolkits>>Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office

Problem:
The LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit does not work properly with my TestStand deployment.

Solution:
This problem occurs because the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit uses the VI Server to launch a number of dynamic VIs. The VI Server looks for the dynamic VIs in the data folder of the executable that is going to use the VIs. For the location of the folder, see the section for the version of TestStand you are using.

TestStand 4.0 and earlier
<TestStand>\Components\User\RuntimeServers\LabVIEW\data

TestStand 4.1 and later
<TestStand Public>\Components\RuntimeServers\LabVIEW\data

The way to fix this problem is to copy all the files from <LabVIEW>\vi.lib\addons\_office to the data folder for your version of TestStand. If the data folder does not exist, then you can create one.

Note: With LabVIEW 8.6, Report Generation Toolkit was changed to object-oriented programming. Due to that change, this KnowledgeBase only applies to LabVIEW 8.5.1 and earlier. For LabVIEW 8.6 and later, please reference KnowledgeBase 4VGBJMQX: How to Successfully Deploy a TestStand System with LabVIEW 8.6 and Report Generation Toolkit.
