Using SC-206X Boards with M Series DAQ Devices

Hardware: Multifunction DAQ (MIO)>>M Series, Signal Conditioning Other>>SC Digital Accessories>>SC-2062, Signal Conditioning Other>>SC Digital Accessories>>SC-2060, Signal Conditioning Other>>SC Digital Accessories>>SC-2061

Problem: Can I use the SC-206X boards with M Series DAQ boards?

Solution: Yes, the SC-206X boards can be used with M Series DAQ devices. The following is required to connect the DAQ device to the SC-206X boards:
  1. Using the SHC-68-68-EPM cable with an 68M-50F adaptor, connect the DAQ device to one of the two 50-pin ribbon cable connectors (J1 and J2) of the SC-2050 board.

  2. Connect the digital port of the SC-2050 board to the 26-pin connector on the SC-206X Series boards (J1) using the SSR Interface cable.

The "Connecting 206X with M Series" file below shows a block diagram of the connection.

The SC-206X series consists of 3 digital signal conditioning devices: SC-2060, SC-2061, and SC-2062. SC-2060 optically isolates digital input. The SC-2061 and SC-2062 boards isolate digital output signals optically and using electromechanical relays respectively. Because the output lines of SC-2061 are open-collector lines, it’s necessary to use pull-up resistors to obtain valid output. NI recommends using a pull-up resistor of 4.7kOhms. The "SC-2061 Output Connection" diagram below illustrates this.
