Unexpected Errors with DAQ Device on AMD Dual Core Machine

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQ
Primary Software Version: 8.3
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
Why do I get unexplained timeout errors when I try to use my DAQ device on a system with an AMD dual core processor?

Solution:
This problem occurs on AMD dual core processors because it is possible for the two core's time stamps to lose synchronization.  Although it is not seen by many applications, if you query the time quickly and receive the time from different processors it is possible for the time to regress.  As a result you can see unexpected behavior when using a DAQ device on an AMD dual core processor.

This problem can typically be solved by installing the latest processor driver.   Several of these drivers can be found below.
