How Do I Access My 8451 From LabVIEW? Hardware: Instrument Connectivity Other>>USB
Problem: My 8451 shows up in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) under USB devices, but does not show up in the 845x I2C I/O resource control in LabVIEW. How can I access my 8451 from LabVIEW? Solution: With version 1.0 of the NI-845x driver, the 8451 will not show up automatically in the I/O resource control or constant. This is expected behavior, but due to customer feedback, will be changed in a future release of the driver. To access the 8451 from LabVIEW for now, you need to create a VISA alias for it in MAX, and then copy and paste, or manually type that alias into LabVIEW. To create an alias in MAX, right-click on the entry for the 8451 under USB devices, and click on "Rename Alias". Type in an alias for the device, and click Save. Once you copy and paste, or type that alias into the I/O resource control in LabVIEW, you should be able to access your device. Related Links: Attachments:
