Solution
There are several causes for this issue such as a faulty cable or the type of adapter being used for connecting the monitor to the controller. Please review the solutions below to address the problem.
- Launch NI MAX, navigate to Remote Systems and select your controller from the list. In the Startup Settings section of the System Settings tab, verify that the Enable Embedded UI checkbox has a checkmark. If it does not, place a checkmark, click Save, and then Yes when prompted to restart the target.

- Replace the cable used for connecting the monitor to the controller to rule out a damaged cable as the root cause.
- If you are using a third-party adapter, please note that the cDAQ and cRIO controllers that have integrated Mini DisplayPort only support Active DVI adapters, VGA adapters and native DisplayPort adapters that are sold by NI.
