Warning Error 0x8526 with VXI System

Hardware: GPIB>>Plug-in Controllers>>GPIB-VXI/C

Problem:
I have a GPIB-VXI/C controlling a VXI chassis. In the Resource Manager (Resman) output, I receive the following:

WARNING !! Error Code = 0x8526
Device at logical address 224 is a PI device but did not respond to the word serial command read interrupters. This is a violation of the VXI Specification.

What causes this error?

Solution:
Resman has detected the device at logical address 224 as a PI (Programmable Interrupter) device. The PI device is then asked by Resman how many interrupts it has available. This is the request which produces the error. In this situation, there are several possibilities:
  1. A device was incorrectly detected at logical address 224 as a PI. Check whether or not the device is a PI device.
  2. The GPIB-VXI/C is having a problem communicating when asking for the number of interrupts. Check to see if you can communicate with other devices.
  3. There is a problem on the device side when responding to the request. If this is the case, update the firmware of the device.
