Performance Issues with the VXI-1394 and Windows 98 Second Edition

Hardware: VXI/VME/MXI>>VXI Interfaces>>VXI-1394

Problem: I am using a VXI-1394 controller with Windows 98. With this configuration, I am seeing some performance issues (e.g. slow performance and a bus error that results when I try to access the bus). What can I do to increase the performance of my system?

Solution: To resolve many of the performance issues, please download and install the Microsoft Storage Supplement Update.
This will not only improve performance (up to 300%), but will also install a "Safe Removal Utility" that allows you to safely stop a Plug and Play storage device prior to unplugging it.
