Why Do I Get an Error About Excel Not Being Installed When I Use the Recipe Object in Lookout?

Problem: When I create a recipe object in Lookout and choose the spreadsheet file to use I get the following error: "c:\file.xls Excel version 5 not installed. (Attempt to read an Excel v5 spreadsheet failed because STORAGE.DLL and/or COMPOBJ.DLL are not installed. This can also be caused by a corrupt spreadsheet file.)"


Solution: This error is due to the format of your spreadsheet file. The Recipe Object requires you to save your file as a worksheet, not a workbook which is the default for Microsoft Excel.
After you have created your spreadsheet, go to File » Save As. Then use the Save As Type: Microsoft Excel 4.0 Worksheet.
Now you will be able to succesfully import the file into Lookout.
