Does IMAQ I/O Require the FPGA Module?Primary Software: Driver Software>>Vision Acquisition SoftwarePrimary Software Version: 8.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I have a PCIe-8255R or a PCI-8254R and need to use the IMAQ I/O driver that installed with Vision Acquisition. Do I need to buy the FPGA Module too in order to use IMAQ I/O? Solution: No. When IMAQ I/O is installed on a PC, a default bitfile is placed at the following file location: <labview>\vi.lib\LabVIEW Targets\FPGA\IMAQIO\Default IMAQIO (FPGA).lvbit To use the default bitfile, place an Open FPGA VI Reference VI from the IMAQ I/O palette on the block diagram. If you double click Open FPGA VI Reference VI a window will open (shown below). Select the Bitfile radio button and verify that the above file location is listed. ![]() Note: The FPGA module is required to customize the FPGA on the PCIe-8255R and PCI-8254R.
