Why Do I Get a Parsing Error after Adding a New Switch in Switch Executive?

Primary Software: Switch Executive
Primary Software Version: 1.0.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software:

Problem: I'm trying to add a new switch to Switch Executive and I keep getting error BFFF0012 which is a parsing error. After creating the IVI instrument, I can successfully add the switch and see all the correct channels, but as soon as I click on the "Routes" tab, I receive the error. What is happening?

Solution: The reason that you are getting this error is probably because you are attempting to use the switch in a mode other than its default. When you are creating the IVI instrument, make sure to include the proper string for the "Driver Options" under the Virtual Instrument properties of the device. The input string must indicate the topology that you are using with your switch. For a list of all the topologies, check out KB 2LEE130A.

For example, to configure an SCXI-1127 in 4x8 matrix mode, use the topology string of "SCXI-1127 8x4 Matrix" for Driver Options.
