Shared Variables Showing Error Icon in the Project

Primary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>LabVIEW Base Package
Primary Software Version: 8.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>DSC Module

Problem:

Why is there an icon with a red exclamation point next to my shared variables in the Project Explorer window?

Solution:

This icon means that the variables are not deployable because the system does not have the LabVIEW DSC module installed. This happens when shared variables were created on a system with LabVIEW DSC Module using DSC-specific features and opened on a non-DSC system. There is no error message associated with this icon, but the project will not perform as expected. Installing the LabVIEW DSC module or DSC Run-Time System will correct the problem.

This issue also affects stand-alone applications. Running a stand alone application on a machine without the DSC module requires the DSC Run-Time System. For more information on the DSC module please see the links below.
