Using SCC-DO01 to Output Digital Voltages Hardware: SCC>>Modules>>SCC-DO01
Problem: I am trying to use the SCC-DO01 module to output digital voltages. When I change the state of the digital line the SCC-DO01 module is connected to, I do not see any voltage change on the output of the SCC-DO01. Can I use the SCC-DO01 module to output a digital voltage without an external supply? Solution: The SCC-DO01 digital output module is an optically isolated digital output module for switching external devices and does not output a digital signal (0 V, 5 V). To use the SCC-DO01 to source 5 V or 0 V, you can use the +5 V supply from the DAQ device. The screw terminal block of the SC-2345 has a +5V terminal that you can use with the SCC-DO01 to create a true digital output. Make the following connections:
These connections convert the SCC-DO01 into a digital output (0 V, 5 V). When you write a logic low to the digital line connected to the SCC-DO01, a 0 V potential appears across the Vout and Vcom terminals. When you write a logic high to the digital line connected to the SCC-DO01, a 5 V potential appears across the Vout and Vcom terminals.
