Can I Use My PXI-8212 Device to Control my PXI System Externally? Hardware: GPIB>>Plug-in Controllers>>PXI-8212
Problem: Can I use the PXI-8212 (GPIB Ethernet PXI card) to control my PXI system from an external computer? Could I use this device instead of MXI-3 or MXI-4, for instance? Solution: No. The PXI-8212 does not have the necessary features to act as the PXI system controller. It is intended as a non-slot-1 PXI card to control other GPIB instruments and connect to the Ethernet. Currently National Instruments only offers the MXI-3 and MXI-4 interface kit to control PXI systems from external computers.
