PCI/PXI-7344やUMI-7764/7774をフォトカプラ入力のモータードライバと接続する場合の接続方法

問題:
UMI-7764/7774をステッピングモーターメーカーのモータードライバに接続して使おうとしています。モータードライバはフォトカプラ入力になっています。どのように接続したらいいですか？

解決策:
UMI-7764/7774またはPCI/PXI-73xxをフォトカプラ入力のモータードライバに接続する際には外部電源が必要です。
UMI-776x/777xまたはPCI/PXI-73xxのSTEP出力は3.3KΩの抵抗で5Vにプルアップされたオープンコレクタ出力になっています。(UMI-777x端子台のコントロール端子はボードのコントロール端子と直結されています）
モータドライバをそのまま接続した場合、およそ1.5mAの電流しか出力できません。ほとんどのモータードライバのフォトカプラはこの電流では動作しません。したがって外部に電源を用意し、電流供給ができるように接続する必要があります。
