Can I Retrigger an Entire Arbitrary Waveform Sequence Using One Trigger Signal Per Sequence?

Hardware: Signal Sources (AWG/FG/AO)>>Arbitrary Waveform and Function Generators>>PXI-5401

Problem:
I would like to use a signal (digital or software) to trigger an entire waveform sequence and wait for the next trigger before repeating the entire sequence. What trigger mode would I use and how would I set this up?

Solution:
There are two different methods we can use to obtain a 're-triggerable' functionality.

The first is to set the trigger mode in the niFGEN_ConfgureTriggerMode function to single trigger mode and reconfigure the trigger every time they wanted to retrigger the sequence.

The second is to create a single waveform and use the 'Stepped' trigger mode. This mode is meant to step through multiple waveforms one at a time. Only a single cycle of each waveform is output at a time. Thus, if we only have one waveform, this trigger acts as a re-trigger for that waveform as the entire waveform will be output once and then wait for the next trigger to come along.

See attached example - niFgen_Trigger_Example (Stepped Trigger) 8.2.1.vi. This example is based off the LabVIEW shipping example ' niFgen_Trigger_Example '  but has a single waveform, made from concatenating the waveforms in the 'waveform array' on the front panel. This example can use a software or digital trigger to trigger this waveform to be output once each trigger.
