How Can I Determine the Type and Version of My National Instruments Installer?

Problem:
How can I determine the type and version of my National Instruments Installer?

Solution:

1. Find the parent setup.exe included with your distribution. 
2. Right-click on setup.exe, and select Properties. 
3. Select the Version tab.  The version is listed next to the File version:
   
   
   
   
4. To determine the type of installer, select the Item name called Internal Name. 
   

There are two types of NI Software Installers:

1. NI MetaSuite Installer:
   These are installers for software suites that contain multiple NI software installers into one.  For example, the LabVIEW Platform DVD.
   
2. MetaInstaller:
   These are single product installers or our freely distributed drivers.  For Example, both the LabVIEW CD and the NI Device Drivers CDs are type MetaInstaller.
