Issue Details

I have a project or VI that either was converted from a previous version of LabVIEW or was created on a different computer. When I try to open the file, I get an error that says <PathToFile> failed to load. Your system is missing the following: <Plugin>

Solution

One of the most common sources of the load failure error is attempting to open a project containing a project task file (*.task) without NI-DAQmx support installed. When a file fails to load, LabVIEW NXG will display a dialog saying "Load Error".

If possible, determine what driver or toolkit is missing and install it through NI Package Manager.

Additional Information

LabVIEW NXG treats supporting software (e.g., drivers) as versioned plugins which are independent of one another. If a file depends on a plugin and the plugin is not installed, LabVIEW NXG will either load the file as broken and replace the missing dependencies with placeholder nodes or it will fail to load the file. In the case of a project file, a missing plugin will always cause a load failure.
