Check Status of a Network Printer in LabWindows/CVI

Primary Software: LabWindows/CVI Run-Time Engine
Primary Software Version: 7.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: 7.1
Secondary Software: LabWindows/CVI Add-ons>>Enterprise Connectivity Toolset

Problem:
How can I check the status of my printer on the network in LabWindows/CVI?

Solution:
You can check if the printer can respond to a ping command. If you use various Windows SDK printing function calls in combination with the LabWindows/CVI InetPing function (Enterprise Connectivity Toolset or CVI FDS version 7 and above is needed), you can select a network printer, obtain some necessary information on the printer and check if this printer responds to network requests. The link below demonstrates how to do this in the form of an example program.
