Choosing the Right PC for the NI PCIe-1427 Hardware: Image Acquisition (IMAQ)>>Digital Image Devices>>PCIe-1427
Problem: There are several desktop computers and motherboards with PCIe slots in the market. Which ones has National Instruments tested and recommend for use with the NI PCIe-1427? Solution: The NI PCIe-1427 is a one lane (x1) PCIe board. It can fit in any x1, x4, x8 or x16 PCIe slot. If you use the NI PCIe-1427 with a x4, x8 or x16 slot (up-plugging), the board will only use one lane within those slots. Since x1 is the lowest number of lanes that is negotiable, you will not see any bandwidth degradation when up-plugging. Most computers with PCIe slots will function optimally with the NI PCIe-1427 board. However, in certain remote cases, the card may not be detected by the Operating System. National Instruments has tested the following computers/motherboards with the NI PCIe-1427:
