Reconecting Report Generation Toolkit VIs after UpgradePrimary Software: LabVIEW Toolkits>>Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft OfficePrimary Software Version: 1.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I am upgrading a VI that makes use of the Report Generation Toolkit to newer version of LabVIEW. However, while loading the Report Generation VIs LabVIEW can't find the Word/Excel specific VIs and asks me to point to them. I can find these VIs under a .lvclass file when I search in Windows Explorer, but I can't point through the .lvclass file in LabVIEW. I get an error specified file is not a resource file. How do I reconnect my VIs without replacing them all?  Solution: You cannot point through a .lvclass file. Because you may need to point to these VIs they are also included outside the .lvclass file. Instead of looking in \National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\vi.lib\Utility\NIReport.llb\Excel as in the first image below, try looking in \National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\vi.lib\addons\_office\excel.llb, as in the second image below. From here you should be able to point directly to the missing VI.
