Why Are My SCXI Modules Recognized As Incorrect Devices in my Daisy-Chained System? Hardware: SCXI>>Chassis>>SCXI-1000, SCXI>>Chassis>>SCXI-1001
Problem: I am using a multi-chassis SCXI system and some modules in one chassis in slots that are also filled in other chassis are recognized as unrelated modules of different types. Why is this? Solution: This situation usually results when multiple chassis in the same system are assigned the same addresses. This problem only applies to daisy-chained modules. When a module appears in the same slot in two chassis with the same address and the modules are auto-detected in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX), an unrelated module will be recognized in the chassis. Modules that appear opposite empty slots will be recognized correctly. In order to avoid this problem you should make sure that the modules are configured at different addresses and that both modules are assigned different daisy chain indices. You will have to add a separate chassis in MAX for each SCXI chassis in the daisy-chained network. Related Links: KnowledgeBase 0K8C8J8Q: Can I Daisy Chain Multiple SCXI-1000 Chassis? Attachments:
