How to use DAQmx Base-supported devices in SignalExpress?

Primary Software: LabVIEW Signal Express>>Development System
Primary Software Version: 1.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>LabVIEW Full Development System

Problem: As DAQmx Base driver is not supported by SignalExpress, you cannot use DAQmx functions that are featured in SignalExpress.

Solution: The solution is to create a VI with LabVIEW and add a user-defined step in SignalExpress.

In LabVIEW :
1. Create your VI with DAQmx Base functions. Avoid doing continuous acquisition or generation. It is better to create a finite acquisition then make the operation continuous in SignalExpress using a conditional repeat. Examples are availables in Start Menu >> National Instruments >> NI-DAQmx Base >> Examples >> LabVIEW 7.1.
2. Test your VI.
3. Make the VI re-entrant (File >> VI properties >> Execution).
4. Save your VI.
5. Create a library (File >> Save with options). Check "Development distribution" and "Include vi.lib files".

In SignalExpress :
1. Click on "Add step" button and then choose "User-defined Step".
2. Select .llb file and then select your VI that you have already created.
3. In "Outputs", you should find your acquisition data and their types.

The type of output data should be either waveform or 1D-array of double.
