Why Do I Get Error -10462 When I Try to Run My 653x Digital I/O Application? Hardware: Digital I/O (DIO)>>High-Speed>>DAQCard-6533
Problem: I receive error -10462 when I run my digital I/O application with my NI DAQCard-6533. Why am I getting this error? Solution: This problem generally occurs when the device does not have an Interrupt Request Line (IRQ) assigned to it. Go to Control Panel»Device Manager to determine whether you can assign it an IRQ address that is not being used by any other device. This is typically only seen with the NI DAQCard-6533 because it requires a dedicated IRQ while the PCI versions can use shared IRQs. Another possible explanation is that many devices on your system require resources. To correct this problem, remove some of the devices, including the NI DAQCard-6533, and reinstall the NI DAQCard-6533. If you have an NT-based system, the resources are possibly locked by the BIOS. To fix this, change the resource assignment in the BIOS from Plug and Play = Yes to Plug and Play = No. Related Links: KnowledgeBase [3F4BMNY7]: How Fast Is A Typical IRQ Transfer Compared To A DMA Transfer?
