Analog Output May Output Incorrect Values on sbRIO-963x/964x

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-RIO
Primary Software Version: 3.5
Primary Software Fixed Version: 3.5
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
Why does the analog output on my Single-Board RIO device output the wrong value?

Solution:
National Instruments has discovered an issue with the NI-RIO driver that affects all Single-Board RIO devices with built-in analog output (sbRIO-9631/9632/9641/9642). The built-in analog output channels may output a voltage very different from the commanded value, in some cases outputting a large voltage when commanded to output a small or zero voltage. Depending on how you are using the device, this issue could cause harm to persons or property. This behavior has been observed with NI-RIO 3.5.0, and there is significant risk of it occurring with previous versions of NI-RIO. The issue is fixed in NI-RIO version 3.5.1 and later.

NI strongly recommends that all analog output users of the above-listed Single-Board RIO devices upgrade to NI-RIO 3.5.1 or later and recompile their LabVIEW FPGA VIs. There are several options for upgrading to NI-RIO 3.5.1:

Option 1 - Download and Install NI-RIO 3.5.1 (1.7 GB)
Option 2 - If you already have NI-RIO 3.5.0, or have a DVD of, or including, NI-RIO 3.5.0, proceed with the install, then download the NI-RIO 3.5.1 patch (39 MB), linked in the Related Links section below.
Option 3 - If you already have NI-RIO 3.5.0, or have a DVD of, or including, NI-RIO 3.5.0, proceed with the install, then update using NI Update Service (39 MB).

Note: If NI-RIO 3.5.0 media is unavailable and you are unable to download NI-RIO 3.5.1 because of the size, NI-RIO 3.5.1 DVDs are available upon request

How to verify that you have NI-RIO 3.5.1 or later:
  1. Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
  2. Select Start>>All Programs>>National Instruments>>NI Update Service. If you cannot find NI Update Service, you do not have NI-RIO 3.5.0 or later installed.
  3. Follow the prompts in NI Update Service.

If you are unable to upgrade, please contact support.

Please follow the link in the Related Links section below to download NI-RIO 3.5.1.

Please accept our apology for the inconvenience. National Instruments is committed to your satisfaction and to maintaining your confidence in our products.
