How Do I Mass Compile the LVCGen\LV71 Directory After Installing LabVIEW 7.1.1?

Problem: I have one of many National Instruments software programs or hardware drivers installed. A list of relevant drivers would include but not be limited to the current versions of NI-DAQmx, NI-SCOPE, NI-FGEN, NI-DMM, NI-HSDIO, NI SignalExpress, Instrument I/O Assistant, Vision Assistant, Motion Assistant, Analog & Digital Waveform Editors. What should I do after installing LabVIEW 7.1.1?

Solution: Regardless of what software is installed, you can check to see if you need to perform these steps by looking for the following directory on your system:

National Instruments\MAX\Assistants\LVCGen\LV71

If this folder exists on your system, then after installing the LabVIEW 7.1.1 Maintenance release, you should mass compile this directory. To do this, perform the following steps:

1. If it is not already open, launch LabVIEW 7.1.1.
   
2. Select Tools»Advanced»Mass Compile.
   
3. Navigate to the National Instruments\MAX\Assistants\LVCGen\LV71 directory and click the Select Cur Dir button.
   
4. Click the Mass Compile button. The mass compile should take only a few minutes.

Failure to mass compile this directory can result in significantly reduced performance in certain aspects of the above products and drivers.
