Compatibility of Installer Built on 32-Bit System Including Daqmx Runtime with a 64-Bit System

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQ
Primary Software Version: 7.6
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: LabVIEW Toolkits>>LabVIEW Application Builder

Problem:
When I build an installer that includes the NI-DAQmx runtime on a 32-bit development machine and then deploy it to a 64-bit machine, the NI-DAQmx runtime does not install.  Why is this and how do I work around it?

Solution: In order to deploy an application to a 64-bit Windows system, there are two options:
  1. Build the installer on a 64-bit Windows system
  2. Install the NI-DAQmx Runtime from the web (linked below)
This issue has been reported to R&D (Corrective Action Request #231302) for further investigation.

In order to install the NI-DAQmx Runtime on a 64-bit machine, a certain 64-bit component must be included with the installer.  If the installer is built on a 32-bit machine using LabVIEW Application Builder, this component is not included.  As a result, the NI-DAQmx installer component is silently disabled during the installation.
