Why Do I Get a Developer Error When Running a National Instruments Installer?Primary Software: LabVIEW Run-Time EnginePrimary Software Version: 8.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I have used LabVIEW to make an installer which includes at least one additional installer or I am running a setup.exe for a National Instruments product. Upon running setup.exe on the target machine I get an error similar to the following Developer Error. The following errors were found in your ini file: 1. Specified file not found: [MsiEngine] WinNTPath = supportfiles\\WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe Developer Error. The following errors were found in your ini file: 1. Specified file not found: [DAQ_Assistant.msi] Path = Products\NI-DAQmx\Assistant\DAQ_Assistant.msi ![]() How do I resolve this error? Solution: The most likely cause for this error is that you have not copied all of the necessary files generated by the installer to a new location on your development PC or onto your target PC. If this is an installer for a National Instruments product, ensure that you have all supporting files and folders that come with the setup program. These are included with the setup when purchased or downloaded from National Instruments. In addition to the setup.exe file, ensure that you have copied the following folders to the target PC or destination folder when creating an installer with LabVIEW.
