Measurement Studio Add-in Error when Only Microsoft Visual Basic .NET Is Installed with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Primary Software: Measurement Studio>>Standard Edition (Starter Kit)Primary Software Version: 7.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: 7.1 Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I only have Microsoft Visual Basic .NET installed with my installation of Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. I installed Measurement Studio 7.1 and every time I open up a project, I get the following error dialog from Measurement Studio (see screenshot below). What is causing this problem and how do I correct it? Solution: This error is caused by the Measurement Studio Add-in that is trying to load a specific assembly that is not present on systems with only Visual Basic .NET installed. This error will not affect users who have other language tools such as Visual C# or Visual C++ installed with Visual Studio .NET 2003. A hotfix is available to correct this problem and can be downloaded from the link below. Once installed, the hotfix will show up as an entry in the NI Software category under Add/Remove Programs. If you decide to uninstall the patch, you will need to repair Measurement Studio 7.1 to get the Measurement Studio Add-in to its initial state.
