Motor Reenables Its Axes When It Reaches The Reverse Limit

Hardware: Motion Control>>Controllers>>PCI-7344

Problem: I kill the motion on the axis in Measurement and Automation Explorer. Following that, I manually move the axis to the reverse limit. I notice that, due to the holding torque of the motor, the movement of the axis is resisted. How can I prevent the axis from reenabling itself?

Solution:

Take the following steps to avoid the problem:

  1. In Measurement and Automation Explorer, go to Devices and Interfaces » PCI 7344 » Default Settings » Axis Settings » Disable the reverse limit switch.
  2. Initialize the motion controller board in Measurement and Automation Explorer.
  3. Kill the motion on the axis.
  4. Move the axis to the reverse limit switch.
  5. Reenable the reverse limit switch in Measurement and Automation Explorer.
  6. Reinitialize the motion controller board.
  7. Start the motion on your axes.
