Creating Volume License Installer that Doesn't Send Permission Requests

Primary Software: Other NI Software>>NI Volume License Manager
Primary Software Version: 2.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
How can I create a volume license installer (VLI) that only performs the configuration, provides contact information and user queries?

Solution:
Follow the standard process to create an Installation File.  See the VLM 3.1 Help Manual for assistance regarding Volume License Installers.

Note: The name of the product and configuration in steps five and seven are not relevant and can be arbitrary for this purpose.

To remove the permission request dialogue,

  1. Copy the Client folder from the resulting Volume License Installer to your client computer or to a shared network directory.
  2. Delete the remaining contents of the Volume License Installer.
  3. Run the vlmclient.exe in the client folder to launch the Volume License Installer dialogue.
The executable will allow the client system to connect to the server, provide administrator information, and query user information.
