VI Logger and Digital Channels

Primary Software: Other NI Software>>VI Logger
Primary Software Version: 1.1.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: 1.1.1
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: When I use the Virtual Channels view to configure my VI Logger task, I can not see the digital channels I created in traditional NI-DAQ. Does VI Logger support data logging from digital channels?

Solution: VI Logger is a software utility within MAX that enables you to create tasks that log analog data. You can not use digital input tasks with VI logger. You can use only analog input tasks with VI Logger. However, you can use digital channels to trigger analog input tasks. This can be done as follows :
    1. Left click on the VI Logger task under the VI Logger tasks tree. This will display the Task Attributes view.
    2. Under the Logging Conditions section, check "Control logging with digital channel"
    3. Select the digital channel name that you want to use for triggering.
    4. Under the Trigger section, check "Start acquisition on trigger".
    5. Select Digital for the type.
    6. Select the edge on which you want to trigger your analog acquisition.
